Summer Makeup Tips for oily skin

Updated: May 14, 2021

Who doesn't wants a healthy, glowy skin all the time. However, in summers, due to an increase in temperature, humidity, and heat, skin starts to look oilier and sometimes rough. It is necessary to adapt to an effective beauty routine according to changing climatic conditions. Also its important to note, that in this sweaty-season, waterproof makeup is a must! So you need to stock your makeup vanity with some water-resistant products this summer. To keep your makeup fresh and dewy-looking even when the weather is working against you, all you need is to follow some important makeup tips:

  • Start off with an Oil Control Face Wash: Always clean up your face before applying makeup on it. Use a gentle face-wash, which is paraben and sulphate free. Cleansing the face helps remove extra oil and dirt and gives your skin a toned and fresh look.

  • Use Serum: Once the cleansing is done, pamper your skin with Aqua+Glycerin based serums. It helps in locking up the hydration, giving a radiant, plumpy youthful skin!

  • Apply moisturizer + sunscreen SPF: In summers, it is always better to choose a lighter, gel-based moisturizer. Use a gel-based(oily-skin) or cream-based(normal-skin) sunscreen on top of it. Applying sunscreen during any time of the year is mandatory, since maximum skin damage occurs due to our skin's exposure to harmful UV rays and pollution

  • Invest in an excellent primer: Primer is considered pore-fixers and thereby resulting in smooth-textured skin, it helps creating in a transparent film that acts as a barrier between the skin and makeup products. You can mix a few drops of primer with the base makeup and make it more effective than applying it in two layers. Use of primer results in makeup products glide on skin and affiliates in its easy application

  • Glow up with some Blusher & Bronzer: To keep the makeup look fresh and natural, apply bronzer just to the high points of your face, like: forehead, jawline, cheekbones, chin, and nose. Powder bronzers are the easiest to apply, as they blend easily giving a clean finish. Apply illuminating blusher to give that extra glow at the high points of your face like: at the apple of the cheeks and a lil over the chin just to give that sun-kissed look

  • Use lip tints instead of lipsticks: Avoid heavy or glossy lipsticks in summers and try the season's simplest trend: lip-tints. These super light formula-based, gives that sheer coverage that can be built up, making them super versatile. Try pinks or peaches for a traditional summery look.

  • Last but not the least, hydrating setting spray: This is the last step in your makeup application but its certainly not the least. Setting-sprays are life-saviors when it comes to making that makeup last for long and helping it to stay intact even when you are sweating, not just this, it also helps in hydrating the makeup base giving a fresh-looking appearance. So, having a hydrating setting spray is a must have in your makeup vanity!
